The History of R.O.C Red Heart Association ◎R.O.C Red Heart Association was founded in the 20th year of The R.O.C(AD 1931), and its founder, Mr. Li Yujie, is the father of the well-known director, Mr. Li Xing. In the initial stage during the war against  Japan , Mr. Li Yujie engaged in drug delivery, coffin offering, and giving relief with no regrets and without any thought of reward. At the time, Professor Li Ziyi was the elder brother of director Li Xing, and several brothers of his family personally involved themselves in the rescue work at the time. With the Mainland China’s fall into enemy's hands and the government’s troop withdrawal to  Taiwan , until the 77th year of The R.O.C, R.O.C Red Heart Association was resumed again and applied a formal registration. ◎Since founded in the 77th year of the R.O.C(AD 1988), the association have engaged in “Services for The Families of The Incarcerated” based on the idea "the crime of an offender does not refer to his wife and children." ◎ During the tenure of Minister Liao Zhenghao, we put forward the "Rehabilitated Offender Protection Work" be implemented in advance while inmates serve prison sentences. ◎ Since the 79th year of the R.O.C(AD 1990),, in view of the importance of welfare work for the elderly, we have accepted to conduct the "Home Care Services" for the elderly in low-income households, commissioned by Bureau of Social Affairs, Taipei City Government. ◎In the 81th year of the R.O.C(AD 1992),, we held "The Elderly Home Care Policy Seminar," "The Elderly Long-Term Care Communitization Seminar" and “The Elderly Workshop." ◎In the 82th year of the R.O.C(AD 1993), we held "Privatization of Social Welfare Seminar " and "Welfare for The Elderly Explanation Session." ◎In the 84th year of the R.O.C(AD 1995), we published "Home Service Practice and Techniques" and the explanation session of the book to promote home care techniques. ◎In the 85th year of the R.O.C(AD 1996), we held "National Home Care Service Supervisor Workshop" to explore the related knowledge and skills of the supervisory system of home care, helping institutions planning to conduct home care services to establish a complete supervisory system. ◎In the 86th year of the R.O.C(AD 1997), we introduced family education work for the incarcerated from Family Education Foundation, DANIEL BAYSE; in the 87th year of the R.O.C, we started trial teaching in prison; in the 88th year of the R.O.C, we developed localized teaching materials and related student and teacher manuals. ◎Since June, the 86th year of the R.O.C(AD 1997), we have accepted to conduct "Xinyi Service Centre for The Elderly" commissioned by Bureau of Social Affairs, Taipei City Government to promote services for the elderly targeted on all the elderly in communities. ◎In the 88th year of the R.O.C(AD 1999), we published "Home Care Service Operation and Management " and accepted to conduct the National Workshop of the book commissioned by Ministry of Interior, in order to share the experience of Red Heart and experts with friends in all of the country who would like to serve the elderly citizens. And we continually assisted to supervise the units wanting to conduct "Home Care Services" to apply for establishment. ◎In the 89th year of the R.O.C(AD 2000), we accepted again to conduct "Taipei City Single-Parent Family Service Center" commissioned by Bureau of Social Affairs, Taipei City Government. ◎In the 90th year of the R.O.C(AD 2001), we extended the single-parent family services to Taipei County and provided "Single-Parent (Vulnerable) Families in All Province Service Hotline." ◎In the 93th year of the R.O.C(AD 2004), we accepted again to conduct the "Services for The Families with Low Parenting Functions" commissioned by Bureau of Social Affairs, Taipei City Government. ◎From the 93th to the 94th year of the R.O.C(AD 2004-2005), we held Cycling around The Island Activities for Caring Single-Parent Families. ◎In the 95th year of the R.O.C(AD 2006), we accepted again to conduct "High-Risk Family Services" commissioned by Bureau of Social Affairs, Taipei City Government. ◎In the 97th year of the R.O.C(AD 2008), we provided "Vulnerable Family and Children Nutrition Meal and Living Expenses" and other subsidies for the all province.
